ROSSO DI SERA 2004

Denne vin er lavet på druerne 90 % Sangiovese og 10 % Colorino
alkoholprocent på 13,5
kommer fra den nordlige del af Toscana - San Casciano Val di Pesa (FI)
This is the
fourth edition of this wine of excellent value derived from a strict selection
in our Pisignano vineyards.
Harvesting was carried out at the begin of October, after the perfect ripening
of the Sangiovese and Colorino grapes.
The second variety clearly contributes to the reinforcement of the typical character of the wine of this area.
Maceration occurred at temperatures ranging from 25° to 30° C. (77°-86° F.) and at devatting the Rosso di Sera was racked into new, 225 liter (60- U.S.- gallon) barriques with the Sangiovese kept separate from the Colorino.
The wine was constantly monitored as it matured for 12 months following malolactic fermentation.
Assemblage was carried out in glass-lined cement tanks, which favored complete blending and decanting.
A wine with an austere character rich in scents of fresh fruit and jam in combination with a moderately spicy aroma that develops great finesse as the years pass.
Rosso di Sera shows outstanding elegance, although it is also endowed with an unusually big structure, because of the perfect synergy between the intrinsic quality of the wine and appropriate action of the wood.
